I graduated from Salem State College in the Spring of 1997. While I was there, I majored in Theatre, particularly concentrating on directing.

(In case you're wondering, not all of my undergraduate work was at Salem State, nor was I always a theatre major.) I spent two years at Fitchburg State College. [One year concentrating on Television Production and the other one concentrating on Graphic Design.] I then transferred to Salem part-time as an Art Major for a year before switching majors to my first love: Theatre.

After graduation and a subsequent tumultuous production of Paul Rudnick's play, Jeffrey, I noticed that my desire to remain in the theatre world full-time had diminished considerably.

That's not to say I no longer enjoyed the performing arts. Nothing could be farther from the truth. But theatre takes sacrifice, both on a personal and a professional level, and I wasn't willing to make the sacrifice.

This of course put me in a difficult situation. What was I to do after spending two decades in school and not having any real desire to go back anytime in the near future?

Well, I must have been thinking about that question subconsciously during my final two years of college, for I began to teach myself the ins and outs of computer-assisted graphic design and layout during what ever free time I had.
