Up | Down | Top | Bottom I remember years ago reading issues of Wizard and seeing pictures of customized action figures of characters who had yet to be immortalized in plastic (or had been poorly immortalized).

I remember being in awe of those featured folk who were able to be handy with the plastic, paint, and paper (well sandpaper actually, but I had this alliteration thing going). I mean, that was a skill that was so out of my league. And besides, I wasn't about to start collecting action figures anyway... or so I thought.

Years passed and sure enough I started collecting action figures like I had said I wouldn't. Something about having a superhero display on my bookcases was sort of appealing to this geeky packrat. I quickly realized that there were a LOT of really crappy figures out there. I mean, at the time, about four versions of the X-Men vllain Sabretooth had been released, but every one of them looked completely pathetic. From that point, I determined that I too would customize action figures so I could have worthy figures to complete my displays.

I learned quickly the dos and don'ts of dismantling existing figures. Lesson Number One... use the boil and pop method. Don't wedge an Xacto blade into the seams to pry the figure apart. (I wish I had learned that lesson without the loss of blood.)

In any case, these days I customize in the DC Direct 6.5" style. Take a look, and drop me an e-mail to me know what you you think.

Up | Down | Top | Bottom The figures on this site are arranged by group affiliation. If a character is a member of multiple groups, (s)he is represented in each section with an appropriate page.

Please use the navigation table on the right side of the page to access a team's pages.

The team pages are arranged chronologically. That is, members are listed in the order that they either joined the team or changed his/her costume.

In addition to custom action figures created by yours truly, commercially released figures are also included for the sake of completeness. Also, there are entries for figures that have not been started yet, but are on my "to do" list.

By arranging the pages in such a fashion, I can minimize the amount of work it takes to update the user interface and sub-pages. It took me close to five months to get this section to this point. I don't want to spend another five months when it comes time to update.

As always, I welcome any comments ad critcisms.

Enjoy.

Up | Down | Top | Bottom In this space will be a list of the most recent updates in the Custom Action Figure section. With 600 or so entries, it will be helpful to know what is new before sifting through all of them.

Right now the newest item is the revamped figure section itself.

I still need to take photographs of the majority of the figures, but for now this can work as a sneak preview of things to come. The photos may not be here yet, but the pages are fully functional and the recipes are completely accurate as of this writing.

Keep checking back for more updates.

If your site isn't listed and you would like to be, please let me know and I will add it.
